Namukombe Mirabu, a 28-year-old mother of five from Luuka, Uganda, once lived in constant struggle. She depended on her husband, who controlled the family's income and spent money unwisely. This left Namukombe with no means to feed their children, pay school fees, or afford medical care.
Every day was a battle. She would search for food, sometimes borrowing from neighbors or taking on exhausting jobs to keep her children from going hungry. She longed for a better life for them but saw no way forward. "I used to cry tears of sadness, but now I cry tears of joy as I watch my children receive the education I never had," she shares with a smile.
Everything changed when Namukombe joined FARM STEW’s training. She learned vegetable farming, planted a garden in her backyard, and began selling the produce. For the first time Namukombe was introduced to nutrition, hygiene, and business skills and ideas. Little by little, her hard work began to pay off. She earned her own income and no longer depended on her husband. She knows the Bible has promised that “my God shall supply all your need” (Philippians 4:19 KJV) and believes FARM STEW has been sent to fulfill that promise.
Today, Namukombe proudly provides for her children. They have food, attend school, and receive medical care. "May God bless FARM STEW abundantly!" she says with gratitude.
